You can already buy Nissan’s Qashqai, the low-cost rival to the Nissan X-Trail. And that car can be had with one of the latest and best new automated driving systems available – Nissan’s ProPilot. But is this the first self-driving car that we could buy for the big bucks?
In addition to the ProPilot Assist, Nissan’s Qashqai has seven other drive-assist technologies including variable-ratio steering, active lane-departure warning, and front and rear parking sensors – all for an extra £120 in addition to the £2050 sticker price. If you want all of these features and don’t have the cash to buy the £26,995 car, you can buy a Qashqai from Nissan, where they are sold as a ‘Premium Tier 2 Car.’
The £2050 option takes the Qashqai into a higher vehicle specification, which includes automatic headlights, front parking sensors and automated adaptive cruise control with a regular speed limiter. In addition, you get a head-up display and rear parking sensors
